It is a program designed to help student expand their mathematical thinking and to promote the idea that Math is Fun! Students work with math manipulatives, learn & play math games, practice logical thinking, and challenge themselves in problem-solving. We encourage students to think as mathematicians and develop a love and understanding of mathematics beyond arithmetic. The Math Adventures program was developed by parent volunteers at Wilder, and we continue to expand and modify the activity choices. Math Adventures continues to nurture a math culture at Wilder where students look forward to their next adventures in mathematics.

Birthday Books
Birthday Books

Chair:
When:
All school year

By donating a book to the Wilder Library for your child’s birthday, you can both support our library and create a tribute to your child that will last for years to come!

Pay online using the link or download the form and send in a check.

Contact our librarian, Mr. Simmons, to pick out your book anytime before your child's birth month. You can select from the assortment on his list or request a specific title at least one month before the birth date, so he can place an order for your child. Ideal times to pick out a book are just before or after school, or contact Mr. Simmons to make other arrangements.

A special bookplate will be permanently placed inside the book stating that it was donated in your child’s honor. During the month of your child’s birthday (or half birthday for summer birthdays), the book will be presented during his/her library time, and the birthday child will be the first student to check out the book.
